The popularity of gift cards continues to rise. It seems no matter which industry publication you pick up, gift cards are mentioned as a highly sought after product in a growing category. More and more people are giving and receiving gift cards as presents instead of cash or an actual gift, and both parties like it that way.
Until recently, in order to obtain a gift card for a specific retailer, you had to go to an actual store location for that retailer. In other words, if you wanted a Home Depot® gift card, you had to go to The Home Depot®. If you needed a Blockbuster gift card, you had to go to Blockbuster.
